Onam 2013 special trains from Bangalore


The train (0653) Ernakulam-Bangalore City bi-weekly special will depart Ernakulam at 9.21 pm on August 19 and 26 and arrive at Bangalore City at 10 am on August 20 and 27. In the return direction, the train will depart Bangalore City at 6.50 pm on August 20 and 27 and arrive at Ernakulam on August 21 and 28.

- Another special train (number 0657) will depart Ernakulam at 9.30 pm on August 20 and arrive at Bangalore City on August 21 at 10 am. In the return direction, the train (0658) will depart Bangalore City at 7.15 pm on August 21 and arrive at Ernakulam at 4.20 am on August 22.

- The train number 0659 will depart from Ernakulam at 6.50 pm on August 23 and arrive at Bangalore City at 8.30 am on August 24. In the return the train (0660) will depart from Bangalore City at 5.15 pm on August 24 and arrive at Ernakulam at 4.20 am on August 25.

- The special train (0665) will depart from Ernakulam at 9.30 pm on August 24 and arrive at Bangalore City at 10 am on August 25.

In the return direction, the train will depart Bangalore City at 6.50 pm on August 25 and arrive at Ernakulam on August at 6.30 am on August 26.

SPECIAL PASSENGER TRAINS FOR ADI-KRITHIGAI FESTIVAL


In connection with the Adi-Krithigai Festival at Tiruttani on 31.07.2013, the following special trains will be run between Arakkonam – Tiruttani – Arakkonam and Arakkonam – Renigunta – Arakkonam from 30.07.2013 to 01.08.2013:

1.Passenger special between Arakkonam – Renigunta – Arrakkonam.Train No.56006 Arakkonam – Renigunta special will leave Arakkonam at 11.30hrs. and arrive Renigunta at 13.20 hrs. Train No. 56005 Renigunta – Arakkonam will leave Renigunta at 14.00 hrs. and arrive Arakkonam at 16.05 hrs. The trains will stop at Tiruttani, Ponpadi, Venkatanarasimharajuvaripeta, Nagari, Ekambarakuppam, Vepagunta, Puttur, Taduku and Pudi. Train No.56005 Renigunta – Arakkonam passenger will stop at Srivenkatta perumalrajapuram also.

SCIENCE EXPRESS – BIO-DIVERSITY SPECIAL TO TOUR SOUTHERN RAILWAY


Science Express, originally conceived as an Indo-German joint venture, is an innovative mobile exhibition mounted on a specially designed 16 coach air-conditioned train, traveling across India since 2007.After 4 phases, this train is now running as ‘Science Express – Bio-diversity Special’, a unique collaborative initiative of Department of Science & Technology and Ministry of Environment & Forests, Govt. of India.In the current phase from 09 April to 28 October, 2013, this train is scheduled to travel to 62 locations across India.
The state-of-the-art exhibition aboard this train aims to create widespread awareness on the unique biodiversity of India, climate change and related issues among various sections of society, especially the students.8 coaches of this train are solely dedicated to showcasing the myriad biodiversity spread across the bio-geographical zones of India such as the Himalayas, the Gangetic Plain, the western ghats and so on.Further, one coach has an exhibition on Climate Change, another on ‘Way towards safe, secure & sustainable environment’ and yet another on energy conservation.‘Kids zone’ in another coach has been created for kids to indulge in fun-filled activities, games and puzzles in science, mathematics and environment.‘Joy of Science’ lab is put up in a dedicated coach.In this hands-on lab, students can perform various experiments and activities.A discussion centre-cum-training facility is also provided for orientation of teachers.

Entry to this exhibition is free and is open for all.Students and teachers are specially encouraged to visit and participate.This exhibition will be open from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.

This exhibition train will be inaugurated at Chennai Central railway station
at 11.00 hrs. on 27.07.2013.

CHANGE IN PATTERN OF TRAIN SERVICES DUE TO LINE BLOCK


Due to line block in connection with engineering work from 06.00 hrs. to 16.00 hrs. between Thiruvennainallur and Parikkal in Vriddhachalam – Villupuram section on 24.7.2013, following changes will be made to train services on this section.

Trains partially cancelled

2)T.No.56705 Villupuram – Madurai Passenger will leave from Vriddhachalam on 24.7.2013

Trains diverted
1)T.No.12606 Tiruchchirappalli – Chennai Egmore Pallavan Express leaving Tiruchchirappalli at 06.30 hrs. will be diverted via. Vriddhachalam – Cuddalore Port – Villupuram and will arrive 50 minutes late at Villupuram.

2)T.No.12636 Madurai – Chennai Egmore Vaigai Express leaving Madurai at 06.50 hrs. & Tiruchchirappalli at 09.00 hrs. will be diverted via. Vriddhachalam – Cuddalore Port – Villupuram and will arrive 40 minutes late at Villupuram.

3)T.No.16127 Chennai Egmore – Guruvayur Express leaving Chennai Egmore at 07.40 hrs. will be diverted via. Villupuram – Cuddalore Port – Vriddhachalam.

Delayed Departure
1)T.No.12635 Chennai Egmore – Madurai Vaigai Express scheduled to leave Chennai Egmore at 13.20 hrs. on 24.7.2013 will leave at 14.20 hrs.

SEVERAL TRAINS TO KERALA FROM NORTH INDIA DIVERTED DUE TO INCESSANT RAIN


Several trains to Kerala from north India have been diverted due to incessant rain and track washout between Sindi and Tuljapur railway stations under the Nagpur railway division. Due to the diversions, trains passing through the western section have been running late.

Authorities said the New Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram Central Kerala Express (Train No. 12626) which left New Delhi on Sunday has been diverted via Itarsi Junction, Khandwa, Bhuasaval Junction, Badnera Junction and Balharshah stations of Western Railway. Due to diversion, train will arrive late at Thiruvananthapuram Central Station by a few hours.

Also, the Gorakhpur-Thiruvananthapuram Central Express (Train No. 12511), which left Gorakhpur on Sunday, was diverted via Itarsi Junction, Khandwa, Bhuasaval Junction, Badnera Junction and Balharshah stations of Western Railway.

At the same time, Thiruvananthapuram Railway Division authorities have informed that the Thiruvananthapuram - Korba Express (Train No. 16328) scheduled to leave Thiruvananthapurma Central at 5.45am on Monday has been rescheduled to leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 11.30 am on the same day due to late running of the pairing train. The time of departure was rescheduled as per the direction from the Southern Railway authorities.

TEMPORARY AUGMENTATION OF TRAINS ;Train No.12027 / 12028 Chennai Central – Bangalore Shatabdi


Train No.12027 / 12028 Chennai Central – Bangalore – Chennai Central Shatabdi express trains have been temporarily augmented by 1 Executive AC chair car with immediate effect upto 31.12.2013 to clear waitlisted passengers.

INTRODUCTION OF PUDUCHERRY – KANNIYAKUMARI (WEEKLY) EXPRESS


As announced by the Hon’ble Minister for Railways in the Railway Budget 2013–14, a new weekly train will be introduced between Puducherry and Kanniyakumari.
            Thiru Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Railwayswill flag off the inaugural Puducherry – Kanniyakumari special at 17.00 hrs. o­n 15.7.2013 (Monday) in the presence of Thiru V. Narayanasamy, Hon’ble Union Minister of State in Prime Minister’s Office and Hon’ble Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances & Pension and Thiru N. Rangasamy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Puducherry, at a function to be held at Puducherry railway station. Thiru P. Kannan, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Thiru V. Vaithilingam, Hon’ble Leader of Opposition, Puducherry, senior railway officials and other dignitaries will participate in the function.
Inaugural Special
            T.No.06861 Puducherry – Kanniyakumari Special will leave Puducherry at 17.00 hrs. o­n 15.7.2013 and arrive Kanniyakumari at 08.40 hrs. o­n 16.7.2013.  T.No.06862 Kanniyakumari – Puducherry Special will leave Kanniyakumari at 13.35 hrs. o­n 16.7.2013 and arrive Puducherry at 05.25 hrs. o­n 17.7.2013. 
Regular Service
Regular service of T.No.16861 Puducherry – Kanniyakumari (Weekly) Express will commence from 18.7.2013 and that of T.No.16862 Kanniyakumari (Weekly) Express from 19.7.2013.
            T.No.16861 Puducherry – Kanniyakumari (Weekly) Express will leave Puducherry at 11.30 hrs. o­n Thursdays and arrive Kanniyakumari at 03.15 hrs. o­n Fridays.T.No.16862 Kanniyakumari – Puducherry (Weekly) Express will leave Kanniyakumari at 13.35 hrs. o­n Fridays and arrive Puducherry at 05.25 hrs. o­n Saturdays.

Composition : 1 AC 2-tier, 2 AC 3-tier, 5 Sleeper Class, 6 General Second Class and 2 second class-cum-disabled-friendly coaches.
